I’m coming away with greater clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of who I am.”

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What issues can you help with?

I support adults with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, identity, trauma, and life transitions.

2. How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be helpful if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or want space to explore your thoughts and feelings. An initial session can help us decide together if this is the right support for you.

3. What happens in the first session?

Our first session is a chance for you to share what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to get from it. I’ll explain how I work and answer any questions you have.

4. Where does the counselling take place?

Sessions can take place in a private, comfortable room at my practice location in Sussex or online via a secure video platform. We will talk through what feels right for you.

5. How often are counselling sessions?

Sessions are usually held weekly, at the same time and day each week. This regularity helps build a sense of safety and continuity. In some cases, we may agree on a different rhythm depending on your needs.

6. What happens if I miss or cancel an appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments without notice, may still be charged in full.

7. How long does each session last?

Sessions usually last 50 minutes unless agreed otherwise.

8. How many sessions will I need?

There’s no set number — some people come for just a few sessions, others for longer-term support. We’ll review things regularly to ensure what we are doing continues to meet your needs.

9. How much do sessions cost?

£55 for 50mins. I offer a limited number of lower-cost spaces — please ask if this is something you’d like to discuss.

10. What methods of payment do you accept?

I accept cash or payment by bank transfer and can provide payment details when we agree to work together. Unfortunately, I do not accept card payments currently.

11. How does payment work?

Payment is made in advance or on the day of the session. I’ll confirm the process when we book your first appointment.

12. Do you offer online therapy?

Yes, I offer online sessions via a secure, encrypted platform if that suits your needs or location better.

13. Is therapy confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is central to our work. There are a few legal and ethical exceptions which I’ll explain clearly in our first session.

14. What is your approach to therapy?

I use an integrative approach, meaning I draw on different therapeutic models depending on your needs. My focus is on creating a warm, supportive space where you feel safe to explore what’s important to you.

15. What if I don’t feel therapy is helping?

It’s important that therapy feels useful and supportive. If at any point it doesn’t feel right, we can talk openly and either adjust how we’re working or explore other options.

16. What qualifications and experience do you have?

I’m a qualified counsellor (Counselling Diploma in Humanistic Creative Counselling – BACP accredited course) with over two decades’ experience supporting children, young people, and families in therapeutic settings.
