MY STORY

From an early age, I faced challenges in my own childhood that created emotional and psychological barriers, preventing me from reaching my full potential.

Like many people, I carried these struggles into adulthood, unaware of how deeply they influenced my confidence, relationships, and sense of self. It was through seeking counselling that I began to untangle these experiences. The process was both profound and transformative, offering me not only self-discovery but a newfound understanding of my emotions, behaviours, and the ways in which past experiences had shaped me.

This journey sparked a deep passion for personal growth and emotional healing. Initially, I pursued a career in sales and marketing, but I felt a strong pull toward working with people in a more meaningful and supportive way. This led me to begin a degree in Psychology, a field that fascinated me and gave me insight into the complexities of human behaviour. My studies reinforced my desire to help others navigate their own challenges, and I soon transitioned into a role within Children’s Services in a Local Authority.

Working closely with vulnerable children and families deepened my understanding of the impact of early experiences on emotional development. I saw firsthand how trauma, loss, and difficult relationships could shape a person’s sense of self, and I became committed to offering the kind of support that had once been so valuable to me. This ultimately led me to train as a counsellor, Therapeutic Life Story Practitioner and Thrive Approach Practitioner and Course Leader, combining my personal experiences, academic learning, and professional expertise to support others on their own journeys toward healing and self-discovery.

Today I bring warmth, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to my practice. I believe that with the right support, everyone has the potential to overcome obstacles, gain deeper self-awareness, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. My own experience of counselling has given me a profound respect for the therapeutic process, and I am passionate about providing a safe and compassionate space where others can find the same sense of growth and empowerment.
